February 21-28 . National FFA Week- The entire school will have the opportunity to participate in the numerous activities that the FFA is planning. Everyday we will have different theme to dress-up to and a different event to participate in.  We will also show our appreciation to our teachers, administrators, and key supporters.

March 31 Scholastics- The competitions for scholastics are: Parliamentary Procedure, Extemporaneous Speaking, Prepared Public Speaking, Upper & Lower Classmen Creed Contest. The Contest will be held at Cedar Lakes in Riply WV.

August 2 . Dairy Cattle Judging-  The Dairy Cattle Judging Competition is held on a Sunday at Jackson's Mill.

Program Schedule

October . Ham-Bacon & Egg Project ..... October 13-March Have Hogs to take to Rolfs meats on Oct.13. Time TBA
 TBA    4-6pm Tagging & Processing of Ham-Bacon Hog
TBA 8 am Cutting of meat at Rolfe's. Then transport hams to CMHS for first salting.  You must bring a wooden spoon.  Bacons will be placed in a freezer. Hams will be placed in cooler @ 38 degrees with a humidity of 65-70%.
November . .
TBA 10-12 noon Second salting of hams @ CMHS. Order bacon hooks if needed. 
December . .
January . .
TBA 4-6pm Hams will be rinsed and go into an equalization period for 20 days at 55-65 degrees with 65%humidity. Bacons will be salted and placed in cooler

TBA 12-6pm Report to CMHS Ag-Ed room to trim meat.  You are required to bring a sharp knife.  STUDENTS MUST BRING RECORD BOOK FOR CHECKING

TBA 10am-12pm Smoking of meat lesson,skill-a-thon, and pizza.  Hams and bacons may be smoked separately . Temperature shall not exceed 95 degrees.
TBA 4-6 pm Students must be in official dress for pictures at CMHS. Record books must be completed and ready for show. Official weights taken on meat.

March 5 .8:00 HBE SALE
HUNTINGTON
TBA 7:30 AM County show and sale at Pullman Plaza Hotel. Official dress required for sale. Exhibits for the poor Man's Sale to the extension office.
